BCA Curriculum Intent
Reading, Resilience and Cultural Opportunity
As an all through Academy, at every stage, our curriculum focuses on the importance of developing cultural opportunity for our students. We do this because possessing a broad foundation of knowledge and experience empowers our students, enabling deeper understanding and producing successful, expert learners, ready for next phase of their learning journey. To achieve this, we teach our students to understand and respect the world around them and aim to change it for the better.
We celebrate the importance of reading because it ignites the imagination and broadens vocabulary, allowing students to give voice to their ideas and aspirations.
At Bridgwater College Academy we recognise the wonder and importance of learning in our rapidly changing and diverse society, but we also recognise that learning is challenging and that success requires resilience and the willingness to make mistakes and learn from them.
